Consumer Statement

If you wish to explain information on your credit report or loss of Hong Kong Identity Card, you can add a note of up to 78 words to your credit report. This can help describe your financial situation to anyone who views your report. Any lender requesting your credit report will receive this statement in addition to your report. Ultimately, it’s up to each individual lender to decide whether or not to extend an offer of credit, but a consumer statement may give them more insight into your financial history. This section will not be shown unless you’ve submitted a consumer statement. In order to strengthen the protection of consumer personal data in Hong Kong, consumers can add remarks in the TransUnion's consumer credit report to let credit providers, such as banks and money lenders, know the following situations. Consumers can pick the suitable option(s) based on the following five items listed below and leave a note in the credit report accordingly:

  1. Unauthorized access to loan accounts
  2. Unauthorized account open
  3. Doxxing
  4. Cyberbullying / Cyberattack
  5. Loss of Hong Kong Identity Card
