Beware of Fraudulent Phone Messages Claiming To Be From TransUnion on Loan Services Promotions

TransUnion has recently become aware that customers and members of the public have received phone messages from individuals falsely claiming to be TransUnion staff and promoting loan services. We wish to clarify that these messages are not authorised by TransUnion, and we are deeply concerned such messages may mislead the public or resulted in their financial loss. We hereby make the following statement:

  1. TransUnion is an information and insights company and credit reference agency. We (including TransUnion Information Services Limited, TransUnion Credit Information Services Limited, and any of our subsidiaries or affiliated companies) do not disclose any customer’s "credit rating" or "financial status" via phone messaging or any other channels for the purpose of promoting loan services. 

  2. Our customer service officers will never proactively request personal information via phone messaging or any other channels for any purposes.

  3. All promotional calls related to our credit report services are made directly by our customer service officers or business representatives. These calls will always display the caller’s telephone number and will not be withheld.

  4. Our customer service officers and business representatives are always willing to provide their name, department, and contact number for your reference.
