Supporting your cross-boundary credit applications with a simpler verification process
When you apply for a loan, credit card or bank account in Chinese Mainland, you may be required to provide a credit report for assessment. As cross-boundary data transfer and verification are involved, the process may be more complex and could affect processing time and the approval result.
With TransUnion’s Greater Bay Area Cross-boundary Northbound Reports Services, your Hong Kong credit report can be securely and compliantly accessed by designated Chinese Mainland financial institutions, helping to support your application and simplify the process.
When you apply for credit services (such as a loan or credit card) with a designated participating bank in Chinese Mainland, the bank will initiate the process as required and guide you through the following steps:

Authorise the sharing of your personal and credit information, for processing, with TransUnion, the designated credit reference agency and the bank with which you are applying for the services.
Upload your credit information to a mainland Credit Reference Agency and verify it through the “Shenzhen–Hong Kong Cross-Border Data Verification Platform.” After verification is completed, the mainland Credit Reference Agency will pass your credit information to the bank.
The bank will process your application in accordance with its procedures
Remarks: This service can only be initiated by participating banks.
